Inside the TickerGrade Engine
TickerGrade isn't a magic 8-ball. It is a specialized decision engine designed for the 'Inter-Quarter' Sweet Spot (30–60 Days). We identify trends that form after earnings volatility settles, allowing you to ride institutional accumulation waves and exit before the next earnings risk cycle begins.
Catalysts (Sentiment)
Stocks don't move without a spark. We track real-time Analyst Upgrades and News Sentiment to spot when the narrative is shifting from bearish to bullish before the price catches up.
Technical Structure
Precision matters. We go beyond basic charts by tracking RSI Divergence to spot trend reversals before they happen. We combine this with MACD (12,26,9) in absolute dollar terms and Volume Analysis to identify high-probability entry points, ensuring you don't buy at the top or sell at the bottom.
Relative Value
Price is what you pay; value is what you get. We compare the stock's PEG Ratio and Analyst Price Targets to ensure you have enough 'upside room' to justify the risk.
Market Tides (Macro)
Even the best ship sinks in a hurricane. We connect directly to the Federal Reserve (FRED) database to track 'Net Liquidity' and Credit Spreads. If the macro environment is toxic, our engine forces a defensive score.
Event Risk (Guardrail & Fear Gauge)
We hate surprises. The system runs a dual-layer safety check: Calendar Risk tracks the official Earnings Calendar—if a report is due within 15 days, we lock the score to 'Wait' to protect you from binary volatility events. Smart Money Fear Gauge calculates the real-time Put/Call Ratio from the options market. If we detect a sudden spike in Put volume (institutions hedging against a drop), we penalize the score even if the price chart looks perfect.
Data Sources
Our algorithms rely on raw, institutional-grade data feeds. Company & Calendar Data is sourced directly from Financial Modeling Prep (FMP). Macro Economics comes from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis (FRED). Options Sentiment is sourced via Yahoo Finance market feeds.
The Verdict
Note on Trade Setups
To protect capital, the 'Trade Setup' parameters (Entry, Stop Loss, Targets) are only generated for stocks with a Score of 6.0 or higher. If a stock scores below this threshold, we deliberately hide these targets to prevent 'forcing' a trade on a weak setup.
TickerGrade is an educational analysis tool, not a financial advisor. All scores are algorithmic opinions based on historical data. Trading stocks involves risk. Do your own research.
